I’ve used als.com a few times when I couldn’t find outdoor gear locally, and for the most part their inventory has been solid. The sizes and colors are easy enough to see, and most of the stuff I clicked on was actually available.

That said, I’d warn people not to assume your order is guaranteed just because the site says something is in stock. I had one item show as available, then it got cancelled later, which was frustrating because I thought I was all set.

Overall, it’s a useful site if you’re trying to avoid driving around to five different stores, but just keep an eye on your order confirmation and be prepared in case something gets cancelled

I ordered a jacket and a few smaller gear items from ALS, and everything showed up feeling really solid right out of the box. The stitching looked clean, the sizing was exactly what I expected, and nothing felt cheap or flimsy. I’ve been using the stuff for a couple of weeks now and it still pretty much looks new. Isn’t that what you want when you buy gear? No complaints from me, I’m happy with it.
